INSTEON Announces Connectivity to Nest Learning Thermostat

IRVINE, Calif. – March 13, 2014 – INSTEON, creators of the best-selling home automation and control technology, today announced that its INSTEON Hub can now connect to the popular Nest® Learning Thermostat™, letting Nest users easily expand their home control lifestyle into new areas such as lighting, security and additional energy-saving devices.
Nest owners who purchase and install the INSTEON Hub for their homes, as well as download the free INSTEON app for both iOS and Android smartphones and tablets, can simply add an installed Nest product to their list of remote-controlled devices in the INSTEON app.
By connecting to INSTEON, Nest users can easily add additional home control devices from a wide range of products from the INSTEON catalog, including LED light bulbs for creating lighting scenes or to increase energy savings; wireless IP cameras and motion sensors for security monitoring; leak sensors for alerting users of water leaks before they can cause significant damage; and much more.
“Nest Thermostat users know the tremendous value of home automation and can now easily build a truly connected home through our INSTEON Hub, devices and mobile app,” said Joe Dada, CEO, INSTEON. “Our affordable and wide array of products expands the possibilities of home connectivity, monitoring and control for Nest users.”
With its simple installation, setup process and trustworthy communication, INSTEON has become the industry’s premier remote control networking technology. Plug-in devices and in-wall switches make it possible to add wireless control to any light or appliance in a home or business without having to hire a contractor. By making every networked device talk to each other via radio frequencies and existing electrical wiring, INSTEON eliminates the need for custom wiring and ensures that every device is always connected.

Oh the joys of cloud to cloud integration.
API access was always planned before the buyout.
