I am trying to install a carrier system access module and am having some trouble. My intention is to use it with my Elk M1G.
I downloaded the proper m1xsp firware and installed that. Set the jumpers and hooked up the RS232.
I have model SYSTXCCSAM01 of the SAM which is the model that Elk lists as being supported.
On the SAM unit itself, I get an error connecting to the Skytel network. Either get code 61 (no network) or 63 (not registered with network).
I do get the green light on the SAM that says that it is communicating with the thermostat. However, the thermostat itself does not recognize the SAM, and the M1G is giving no indication that the SAM is there either.
Do I have a bum SAM or is it necessary to get communication with Skytel to get any of the other stuff to work. I do not intend on connecting to the Carrier service plan, I just want to get it synced up with my Elk.
