simplest way to archive HAI Omni event logs?

I'm interested in keeping my event logs long-term. What's the easiest (to setup and maintain) way to manage this? It looks like it would be relatively straightforward to use the SDK to download event log lines, but I'm wondering if someone has already done the work, or if WL3 or somesuch already supports this functionality out of the box?

If you have a Mac, HaikuHelper can do this with a bit of JavaScript.

OK it took me a while to get a machine set up to run HH; any tips or pointers on the JS I need to make this work?
