New member - not able to update/access my profile/settings

I just joined and when trying to update my profile or my settings I get the below error message.

[#1026] You are not permitted to modify all or some of your profile information.

Unsure what I am doing wrong here. Any help appreciated. Thanks!

Update: I was attempting to access the settings/profile via the username link at the top right of the forum page. That's where I got the message.

However, when clicking on my info to teh left of this post, I saw an 'edit profile' link. That link allowed me access...

New members can't edit their own profiles until they have made a few posts. Since you just made a few posts, your access has been upgraded automatically, and should be able to make these changes now. Let me know if you still can't update your profile.
