Digital signage recommendations?

Any advice/experience for a 1-2 line readerboard solution (display unit and software) that can be read from 60-80' away in an outdoor environment? The text displayed would be only a limited number of characters, effective to direct vehicles (in numbered lanes) to assigned loading doors upon being triggered by an operator or by conditional logic. Most solutions we're seeing start at about $1000.

That's about what they're going for. I'm sure you've already seen all that's pretty much out there, which isn't much.

You can also look into mass notification segments for security to see what else is in the mix.

BetaBrite/Adaptive Displays are popular manufacturers. You can find them in all sizes, you can write your own software if desired, and you can find used ones for a good price if you look around. Have several @ work, and some cocooners use the small units in their home.

Thanks for the referrals, and especially the confirmation on customizing the input options on BetaBrite; that is something difficult to glean from documentation on most manufacturer/distributor sites. And a great need fulfilled by the legion of CT contributors.
