I am using voice dialing on my system. I noticed that output 1 turns off during a phone call out. I assume that's related to listen in, which I'm not using.
In my case, since I'm calling my cell phone, it may take a couple of minutes to get to my voice mail & leave the message. Also, the Ek is holding the line after my cell hangs up because it's waiting for the acknowledgement.
Consequently, out put 1 is dead for several minutes after an alarm.
Is there any way to change that feature, or is it hard coded? Anybody have a work around?
Thanks!
Output 1 during voice call out

I have read about this before - I believe the Elk really only has one channel for the voice outputs, so when it's dialing, it redirects voice to the phone instead of the speakers. Not sure of a workaround though other than having your Elk contact a monitoring center and let them call you rather than self-monitoring. You can still get no-dispatch service if that's what you want.

An option, not a solution, is to use piezos during a burglar alarm. With a few of those going off you don't need output 1

Fact.
There is a single voice amp/chip on the M1. Will not announce or speak if another output is using the voice section.
