I recently built a new house out in the country.
One of the things I did was put in a directional driveway sensor. It is hardwired to the house that goes to a control box then a small siren. What I would like to do is run a wire from the controlbox/siren to a devise that would be able to connect to a computer or my router that could send my smartphone an email or alert. This would allow me then to log into my security camera dvr then to check out what is going on. I have no idea what something like this is called so its hard to search. Most of what I find is some type of cheep webcam that sends an email. I'm looking to use the components that I already have that is more fool proof.

Thanks for your help.

hi, welcome to CT!

I would probably consider using something like a CAI WebControl I/O unit (very cheap), and maybe a current sensor or relay (depending on how it is wired), to monitor the signal. If you post a make/mode of the setup, we might be able to give you more specifics.

Just search for 'CAI' on the forums here, you will get tons of more info.
