All,
I really appreciate past/quality PERL API interfaces - they have proven quite useful (if only as a motivational source.)
I am an 'old-school' guy who appreciates 100% compile-time languages vs. popular 'others'. I'm not going to belabor, critique, favor any/all of them - it's just clear (to me) that compiled languages are the 'best' - as such I will proceed accordingly w/this thread.
My goal is to quickly provide a rich C/C++ API w/a portable C/C++ implementation to accomplish the Elk M1 API (as documented in the *awesome* RS-232 API Doc (8/8/2011)).
I have a nice past of providing complete & documented C/C++ API efforts. Look forward to submissions ASAP.
This is my 1st effort at Cocoon - so we'll see how that all goes.

I currently attempting to set up the Perl interface using SSL. Having some issues with getting connected on 2601. This is a first exposure to Perl, would prefer to use a C/C++ API as I have experience in this environment. I'm interested if any work has been done with C/C++.
