SystemSensor i4 Smoke/CO

I bought a bunch of GE449CST smokes along with FPL wire a year back with intention of installing. After reading recent false alarm posts about this detector along with comment from Del, I now have buyers regret. I will just probably eat the cost (anyone want some cheap fire alarms). At least the FPL wire can still be used.

I came across this new SystemSensor i4 system, and it seems pretty interesting. Anyone installed one yet. This system seems like a dream come true with simplified Panel wiring. The i4 does not require any RRS-MOD, Builtin supervision, Easy testing, Smoke aux-reset, and Combo Smoke/CO detectors available.

I was thinking of pinging AutomatedOutlet to see if they could procure one.

I don't recall 449CST's being the issue, but the units 449CRST's, with integral power supervision relays (trying my best to remember the PN suffix).

Installed plenty. Plan on a 4 11/16" deep box and eating 3 zones and pair of outputs on the M1.

I'd suggest, if the wiring exists, install 2 wire units and then wire as form D. Not needed but means the detectors will always function unless there is a direct short or ground fault on the wiring.
