IE11 editing problems

- "quote" doesn't work
- no paste, pictures, attachments into a post
- I can only get the '<>' button to work.
- attempting to attach pictures etc. results in a URL box that is no escape without killing process.
- if the "del" button is pushed it deletes the whole paragraph
- compatibility mode resolves many of the problems but causes pulldown menus to be shortchanged
- this is the same experience under Win 7 x32, win 7 x64, and win XP with IE9

These problems were happening at the UDI forum until they adjusted some settings. See "TheSideWinder" (admin) for tech details.

I have been  running Java 8 u5 for the last few months.

Thanks.

I'm having the same problem. Setting to Compatibility Mode doesn't help. Makes it difficult to participate.

Thank you,
Kevin

Well here I have almost now totally abandoned the use of IE and gone to using Firefox on everything.  I personally prefer it to Chrome.

It works well.

Relating to the Java updates; I had some issues with embedded devices; well one headache was my Raritan 16 port KVM.  I have tweaked it to allow me access to my own stuff; which was a pita to do.

Hi, Pete,

During the day, I'm at work. IE is the browser we must use, and we cannot install other browsers.

Thanks,
Kevin

I tried Chrome about two years ago and I had to rebuild the whole system to get it back. Chrome made a complete mess of my system with hooks to prevent MS stuff from running that couldn't be removed with the uninstall. These competitors are so obsessed with ruining each other's installs the users are the ones paying for it.

Google is getting to be overbearing, overpowering and just too grabby with information harvesting for their money hungry empire building.

Never again. I'll stick with IE.

The administrators of this forum only need to turn on some switches to make things work for the majority of us. The UDI forum did after the first few days of complaints and they use the same forum software.
