"View New Content" button not working?

Hi:
 
Typically, I visit the site once a day and start by clicking "View New Content".  Starting yesterday, it now responds "Sorry, no new content".  Yet when I went to "My Content", a thread I posted to showed activity:

I've been using the View New Content under the forums to get forum specific conent.  I did notice it a few weeks ago but could tell if I had been using the link on th emain page or a cached link for the firum's new content.

Depending on where you are on the site when you click the button it will filter the type of content. At that point, look at the left side of the page under "by content type" and click on forums.

"View new content" is subject to your personal filters set and it's peak vacation time for N.Am'ers. Not much action.

When I click "New Content", I get the following URL -- still with "Sorry, no new content found".  Even though there were three replies to this thread that I had not yet read.

Wait a minute.  The "Just items I follow" filter was turned on.  Now the URL has changed as follows and I get a listing of the new posts.

I haven't seen another forum with that type of behaviour.  Honestly, I don't like it but at least I have an idea how it works, now.

Yeah the forum, right now is totally incompatible with IE and Java 8. There is no paste, quote, attachments. Has some nice features once you get used to it,
