Bad Parrot

Unrelated to automation technology.  I have a Blue Crown Amazon Parrot that I adopted when she was around 1 month old.  She was the size of my thumb.

Today she: "Kika" is close to 40 years old and is the size of Macaw.  Wife and her to not get along vocally; never did.   She coos me today with words of love and only cusses at my wife. (well and wife cusses back)

BAD Parrot

A young man named John received a parrot as a gift. The  parrot had a bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary.
Every word out of the bird's mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with profanity. John tried and tried to change the bird's attitude by consistently saying only polite words, playing soft music and anything else he could think of to 'clean up' the bird's vocabulary.

Finally, John was fed up and he yelled at the parrot. The parrot yelled back. John shook the parrot and the parrot got angrier and even more rude. John, in desperation, threw up his hand, grabbed the bird and put him in the freezer. For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked and screamed.

Then suddenly there was total quiet. Not a peep was heard for over a minute.  Fearing that he'd hurt the parrot, John quickly opened the door to the freezer. The parrot calmly stepped out onto John's outstretched arms and said "I believe may have offended you with my rude language and actions. I'm sincerely remorseful for my inappropriate transgressions and I fully intend to do everything I can to correct my rude and unforgivable behavior."

John was stunned at the change in the bird's attitude.

As he was about to ask the parrot what had made such a dramatic change in his behavior, the bird spoke-up, very softly, "May I ask what the turkey did?"

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Happy belated Thanksgiving to you and your family Mike.

I am not sure how long Kika will be living.  She is a family member.

Saturday I brought here to get her beak / nails trimmed.  Typically she is OK but I do not do it as she has a very good memory about stuff.

I bring her to a place where I purchase her food to trim her beak and clasws.  Well, its an old farmer feed store; been around forever.

She knew where she was going and was fine with it.  She jumped on her car perch and appeared fine with the ride (~45 minutes).

She really got upset this time.  I went to the clipping room and she was making her baby sounds (from 40 years ago) to get her and she lept to my chest clinging for to me very tightly.

I put her back on the perch in the car and she would have none of it.

Rather she sat with her head under the seat (she doesn't fit under the seat) and went to sleep; never moving until we got home.

She was fine after I woke her up and put her in her cage.

Interesting documentary.

Thank-you Mike.

Kika came from Guatamala and hadn't been weaned yet when I got her.  She was the size of my forefinger.  I feed her with a nose dropper for a bit.  Today she is about 12" plus in size.  She is the largest of the Amazon parrots close to a Macaw in size.
