has anybody tried the M1EXP version 2.x.x firmware?

Looks like big changes with the newly release M1EXP firmware. Several possible improvements, however it drops the Java interface, which could be a problem. Has anybody testing this and used the new cloud interface? And does anybody know if installing this firmware (and loss of Java capability) will kill the Android myKeyPad app?

I've been running the update since shortly before it was officially released by Elk. I have not used the "cloud" interface nor do I plan to do so. I have tested a system with the latest update and myKeypad... I've also connected with eKeypad (Apple) as well - no issues.

that's helpful... thanks, drvnbysound. Seems like if I'm not going to use the Cloud interface, the only reason to install this firmware would be to get SSL email capabilities. I still have an email service that lets me send non-SSL emails, so everything is working fine. If SSL is the only improvement that this new firmware offers (while also getting rid of the java interface, which I do find occasionally useful), then I'm inclined to not install it.

Is there a specific reason that you use the Java interface? Do you have admin rights from the computer you access the Java interface? Elk developed a free Windows application as a replacement for the Java interface. M1ToGo.

SSL was huge for me - and I have a hosted email server that supports non-SSL. The fact was that I didn't want my security based emails being sent in plain text.

i run on Mac, and M1ToGo doesn't run on it.
As for why I like the java interface: I like the idea that I could walk up to any random computer if i'm on the road without my laptop, and get to my M1 without installing any software,  using any browswer.

Makes sense. That's why I have my phone :) ... and my emails are still encrypted.

I too use a Mac and occasionally use the Java interface.  While it's nothing great it's still functional.  That said, I did get ElkRMS to work on Mac via WINE a while back so I'm sure it's possible to get M1toGo to work as well.  But, 99% of the time I do have my phone too.

I too, also use the java interface. I've found myself where wireless data flat out sucks and using a 3rd party PC is the only real option.

I installed a new XEP today... it came with the latest version already installed, thus no Java interface.

As I stated above, personally I don't use/need it, but just want to give a heads up for those who do - and I'm not sure if you can roll back.

I'm sure there is a process but guessing Brad and the guys would be involved and probably not published due to the brick/white knuckle factor.

I have the latest firmware, and now my ISY does not talk with ELK.

Trying to fix my emails issues caused bigger issues...

IP address change? Can't say it stops working natively with the ISY without discussing what had been tried or investigated.
