OmniTouch 7 Messages and voice announcements?

How do you read/view Messages on an OmniTouch 7? When my OmniPro II initiates a Message from some event I've programmed, the message appears on the system console, but it doesn't show on the OmniTouch 7 screen. There is the word "Message" in the bottom left of the screen, but tapping it doesn't do anything, and I don't see an icon anywhere for reviewing messages. The LED flashes green, presumably to alert me to the presence of Messages. The Clear Messages button on the Settings screen of the OT7 doesn't seem to clear the message indicator either.

On a related note, can the OT7 speak messages? If so, does it require a special add-on board in the OP II (I do not have the voice board in my OP II)?

My OP II and OT7 are both running the latest firmware.

Well, after power cycling the OT 7, it started behaving better. The Message now displays the actual text of the message instead of just the word "Message", and the Clear Messages button now clears the message. I guess there are still a few gremlins in the OT 7 firmware.
