Merry Christmas Cocooners!

Merry Christmas Pete! I just got in and put my feet up, it's been a long day. I was surprised to see the lack of Christmas spirit here, nice tree.

Mike.

Busy working here... pulled all my analog cameras last weekend. Sold the system to a co-worker; spent today helping with his install.

I've got 2 other co-workers who are closing on homes Monday and Tuesday of next week... both have me lined up to do work on those as well.

At some point, I'm going to have to spend some time working on my own stuff again! Maybe one day I'll finish and be able to kick back and enjoy :) Nonetheless, Merry belated Christmas!

Seems like it was a short christmas season - I'll bet everyone was just busy doing it, without as much time to play with automation.  I did manage to get a few new IP cameras up and a new NVR so my security has been beefed up quite a bit!  Now if I open the NVR screen at the office with the audio on, it feels just like I'm back in my home office with the window open.

Had to redo my light scheduling - I forgot just how much thought had been put into my Elve holiday rules when I scrapped the install and went with a clean and fresh 2.0 install on a new server.  The last few years I had just plugged in the appliance modules, turned on the breaker to the UPB outlet in my eaves that's dedicated to xmas lights, and they just automatically picked up the schedule... this year we were all manual for the first week until I sat down and reprogrammed it all.  Of course I have a scene switch in the front room that has 2 buttons set up already for outdoor and indoor xmas lights, and the indoor lights already respond to things like "downstairs off" and "whole house off" so it wasn't too bad.

Yup here we had no snow.  I did get to test newer little LED candlabra bulbs. They worked fine but still a bit to bright.

The new bulbs are those clear ones with LEDs inside.  Not a harsh white nor a warm white though.  Will have to test again next year.

I used the warm weather to replace one Aircam with one Grandstream.  I am now at all Grandstream IP HD cams.

Next though changing out some lens / cams for wider angle cams.

RPi automation box crashed the SD card last week.  Twice now in a year.

I leave the Christmas lighting (X10) alone with the scheduling in the OPII panel.  I like that I can hit one button on the RF X10 remote and see all of the lights go on at once.

Did change the window regulator (2nd window done) on one vehicle day after.  Its sort of a PITA to do.  Trying to sync the glass while doing this left the battery connected just for a bit and disconnected the SRS before I disconnected the battery.  It was a mistake to do this.  That said its a dealer reset only for ~$100 or buying a tool for $20 and DIYing it.  Bought the tool that I probably will use once.  Looking at the defective regulator; the part that broken into tiny pieces was all plastic.

Really nicest thing was just spending time with the family and watching the boundless energy of the new grandchildren.
