How to test Elk M1 alarm rules without sounding siren?

I'm sure I'm missing something obvious here but I want to test my system after I update the programming without driving the neighbors crazy. I haven't done it in a while but I seem to remember disconnecting the siren (output 2 I think it was?) doesn't work.

I want to add more programming but the best time for me to do it is at night. So basically I want to simulate a live test but without the noise.

You can disconnect the siren from Output 2 and connect a 2.2k resistor in its place to avoid a trouble condition.

You could also set the Out 2 Delay Time to the max value of 255 seconds.  Just make sure you complete your test before the delay expires. :)

In 255 seconds I will have already forgotten about the 255 second limit  :D

The 2.2k resistor is exactly what I need thanks!!!

I like the long delay idea, I can use that in the future. Thanks!
