Yet another remote?

Yet another kickstarter/crowd-funded attempt, the Neeo:

Made an intro splash last Winter, still nothing shipped.  Could be interesting, but then that can be said about a lot of crowd-funded stuff that's failed to deliver.  It lacks tactile keys for ffwd/rewind though.  That's a deal-breaker for me.  I've inquired about whether that wheel-looking circle can be used for that or not.

I was just on Kickstarter yesterday trying to figure out how to cancel my pledge...

So that was a short lifespan. Once I finally got mine I set it aside until I have time to give it proper attention only to discover they have sold out to Control4 and are no longer going to support end users. The time I waited for the thing to actually ship exceeded it's lifespan as an available product in the open marketplace!

 That really sucks, the people that backed them get shut out so Control 4 can have a nice new remote?

That's basically it.  Which makes sense for the Neeo folks, as going it alone selling just the remotes was always going to be an uphill climb.  That and the customers that Crestron, URC, Control4 and the like target don't give a damn about the DIY market.  Thus Neeo ditches the customers that got them to the dance and then has a channel that completely ignores them.  So, yeah, pretty shitty move.

Not cool at all, too bad URC doesn't allow end users access to their Total Control line.
