COSMOD-2W - Mounting and Double Checking Rules

I recently bought some 2 wire smoke/CO (COSMO-2W) and smoke detector (2WTA-B) with the COSMOD2W interface.
 
I tested things out and I have a few questions.
 
Any suggestions where I should mount the COSMOD2W?  My 28" Elk can is in the back of a coat closet.  I was either going to install it in the Elk can, or maybe install a 4" box right above the can and mount the modules on that.  The manual says mounting in a "dedicated" can is approved and I didn't know if this meant in the Elk can was frowned upon.
 
Currently I have the following zone configuration.
 
Smoke Zone - Zone Type 10 - Fire Alarm
CO Zone - Zone Type 17 - Carbon Monoxide
Maint. Zone - Zone Type 12 -Fire Supervisory
 
I saw a number of post where Del mentions not having the Maint. Zone as a trouble.  Does this mean that instead of it being zone type 12 (Fire Supervisory) it should be Aux1 24Hr. Alarm and ensure that my future monitoring company sees that Aux 24Hr alarm as a maintenance and not a trouble?

When I reset the smoke power I see a CO Trouble and Fire Trouble that gets cleared automatically almost immediately.  Is this something I need to worry about?  It doesn't bother me, but my system is not monitored yet and I don't know how it will look on their end.  Based on the advice from the above threads I will write a rule that will display text and beep the keypads indefinitely if there is a CO or Smoke Trouble.
 
Instead of using relays to apply the 12Vs for Smoke Trigger Out and CO Trigger Out can I use an Elk Output?  I couldn't find anything in the manual where it stated how much current the trigger outs needed.

you need a 4 11/16 box. Easiest is to use an offset nipple from the M1 enclosure to the 4 11/16 (assuming surface mount). If you have enough room in the can, you could mount the box within the enclosure.
 
I use 24H aux for the maintenance signal. All it means is the detectors drifted out of sensitivity or they can no longer compensate. That addresses the need for any rule as far as the M1 is concerned. You don't want the system to trigger as a fire alarm if you have a dirty smoke detector (which would also cause a tandem ring). Same goes for the CS report code (SIA/CID) no matter what the template says, having a hard coded event code for a fire alarm event be actually a trouble condition is a poor practice.
 
The CO and fire trouble on a fire reset are to be expected (you removed power from the loop, so the relays open). The normal zone attributes are going to function to annunciate the fire trouble or CO trouble with no further programming.
 
The triggers appear they could be used (up to 50mA each) however what I'm noticing is SS is showing the detail with a relay contact and not a voltage trigger for anything other than the bell trigger. Might be nothing, might be an important detail.

Thanks DEL.  That was just what I was looking for.
 
I contacted System Sensor and they said that the 50mA for the Elk outputs are "more than enough" for the trigger and all they need is a positive voltage.
 
Since my Elk can is flush mounted any suggestions for the 4 11/16 box?  Does the box need to be nailed to a stud or can it just be attached to the sheetrock?  I then need to downsize/adapt the knockout from the Elk can to be the same size as the knockout for the 4 11/16 box.
 
Since your can is flush, the option would be to surface mount the 4 11/16, with a knockout in the back removed, then you'd knock out an appropriate knockout in the can of the M1's bottom or top and fish the cables and conductors you need from the 4 11/16 to the M1 can.
