HAI temperature sensor acting up since Hurricane Matthew

I have a HAI LV31A008 temp/humidity sensor that is giving weird readings since Hurricane Matthew. The sensor is on the side of the building which took the brunt of the wind and rain so I suspect that it got water and salt inside which caused havoc. What I can't understand is the actual outside temp is 78f while PCAcess reports temp of 0f, Omnistat #1 reports -3f and Omnistat #2 reports -5f.

Before replacing I wanted to ask if anyone has experienced similar situation to ensure the temp/humidity sensor is really bad before ordering a new one.

I would try to rinse the connections and sensor out with some isopropyl alcohol to absorb the water and then evaporate first.

Salt water is very conductive.

Better to use lighter fluid (naphtha) as it has no residue like some alcohols do and it's the stuff of legend for companies that repair computers after fires and floods.  If it leaked, it will leak again though....but check the wire all the back to see if it shorted anywhere too.
