Wire size

Just want to make sure things haven't changed in the last ten years...

The wiring guide says to use 22AWG for pretty much everything security sensor related (not including fire alarm components). Is this still a good size, especially for motion detectors and water sensors (i.e., 22/4), or should I go larger? All sensors will be home run to either the main M1G enclosure or a secondary enclosure, and no single run will be over 100 feet. I'm using 18/4 for everything fire alarm related.

Thanks,
Ira

18/4 FPL or suitable interchange for any fire alarm device.

18/2 FPL  or suitable interchange for any speaker/siren.

22/2 or 22/4 for protective circuits is more than enough until you start going any long distance, which I'd put in the realm of 500' or if you have powered devices and have to consider voltage drop. Realistically, 12V at the detector should be a rule of thumb.
