Hai omni pro II russound cav6.6 integration

I'm trying to control my russound cav 6.6 from my omnipro II. Both are working correctly independently but I can't seem to get the cav to respond to commands from hai. Set up serial port 2 baud 19200 russound protocol, I bought the recommended serial connection cable. Tried both front and rear rs232 ports. Any ideas on why this isn't working? Thanks.

Which russound protocol? There are 2 in HAI, make sure you are not using E/C series
