Tuxedo Touch question

I have a couple of Tuxedo Touches with my Vista 20P.  In the setup menu there is "CS setup" and then it askes for an authorization code.  Is this the same as the Installer Code?  I guess what I'm really wondering is if this "CS setup" is where the installer did the programming of the 20P.

Yes, you would want to enter the Installer Code when prompted for the authorization code. The default code is 4112 and if that doesn't work there is a backdoor method to get into programming if you have a standard console keypad (you can't use a touchscreen keypad for the backdoor method).

Using a console keypad, you can power cycle the system and then press and hold * and # together on the console keypad, within 50 seconds of powering back up. If done successfully, you'll see '20' or 'Installer Code 20' on the keypad display (depending on which keypad you have). Once you see that, press #20 and the keypad will display the current installer code for your system as 4 separate 2-digit numbers equating to the 4-digit Installer Code. Once you get the code, press *99 to exit programming.

Thanks for that.  I've read about the back door a few times now.  Unfortunately, the other keypad I have that is out in the detached garage, is not an alpha-numeric keypad, so I can't use it either.

Does anyone know if ADT typically uses a common installer code?  I've already tried 4110 and 4112.

I may end up having to buy a 6160 just to get going.

Big blue went away from a common IC after a big lawsuit.

You can use a fixed keypad to view data fields, but not recommended for novice programming.

Well, I'm definitly a novice.  I haven't tried programming yet!  But it's inevitable.

Are you saying I can get the installer code with my one non-alphanumeric keypad?  I believe it is a 6150.

You can, however programming and modifying fields should be done from an alpha keypad, especially for a novice.

Yes!  That did indeed work.  Thank you very much for the help.  There will be more questions coming, I'm sure.
