Slaving power from a wall switch

I am using Kindles in Vidabox mounts to provide control in different rooms in my house.  In each room I plan to mount them next to the light switches.  Does anyone know of an elegant solution that allows you to slave power off the light switches to provide power into the mount?  At this point I plan to add a single gang box and run power to it but I was hoping that there were other options that include a power supply, etc.

Legally, no. You'd be introducing LV and line within the same, undivided box.

I'd suggest a POE hub and LV cabling and convert back to USB power

The legacy Leviton HAI Omnitouch 5.7 / 5.7e touchscreens utilize POE.  Serial touchscreens just used catXX and passed voltage, video and serial across the 8 wires.  Newer IP touchscreens use POE and IP.  That said HAI built a plastic for wall mounting clamshell for these screens.  I have left these in place.

Old old keypads used a metal clam shell with 4 wires to it.

Over the years here went to an in wall box with LV and HV and cabling plus DIN mount for flush mounted LCD screens.  They were near wall switches but here ran a new chase and metal conduit from the basement to the first floor or attic to the second floor for HV and a chase for LV to a plastic insert box divided to HV and LV.

I stayed in Wintel mode for my Homeseer screens modifying Joggler table tops for use with POE and running embedded Windows. Larger touch screens got thin and easier to mount; then removed all of them except for one used for irrigation and stuck to using tabletops.  Testing 16-20 of these with Homeseer Touch totally remote controlled by the mothership / Jon00's remote plugin.
