Sales/Tech type questions.

I hope this is the proper place to ask these questions. I was wanting to understand Elk and while chasing down a thread, I found CocoonTech.
I have a lot of questions and I don't know what they are ... :)
I am trying to compare Home Security (HS) in an apple to apple as much as possible. My old house was vista with Tuxedo and the new house is a clean slate.
For details here is my http://cocoontech.com/forums/topic/30283-hello-from-tuttle-ok/?p=255122 hello world intorduction.

Lessons learned from my Tuxedo, I agree with this post http://cocoontech.com/forums/topic/30190-what-security-system-to-pick-for-a-new-construction/?p=254406 about trying to find a system that does Home Automation (HA) and HS in packae. BUT it was nice to use some of the sensor on the Tuxedo with the HA.

For my HS, I would like to 3G monitored, hardwire sensors, and UL listed.
My first question, what Elk product would meet those requirements?

One thing I did learn reading the http://cocoontech.com/forums/topic/30250-replace-120-vac-smoke-detectors-voltages-protocols-2-wire-4-wire-options/ theard, this might be as exciting as doing electical work to code.

Elk offers 2 alarm panels, the M1 Gold, and the M1 EZ8.  The EZ8 is a less expensive, knee-capped version of the M1 Gold that limits the number of zones and other expansion capability that is available with the M1 Gold..

The M1 Gold can handle wired or wireless zones (wireless requires an expansion module).

For monitoring, you can connect various 3rd party cellular communicators, or the Elk's M1C1.

You can use the Elk with various HA systems, such as the UDI ISY994i, Homeseer and CQC.

The blend of software and the Elk M1 panel gives you the best of both worlds.

Here while I utilize HAI temperature / humidity sensors connected to my OmniPro 2 panel I have an extensive 1-Wire network(s) which gives me an eye to the functioning HVAC.

It also offers a bit more flexibility with the type of consoles you want to use.  Keypad and a variety of in wall or tabletop touchscreens.

EZ8 has and supports everything the M1 offers, there are only a handful of exceptions between an EZ8 and M1G (unlike HAI, where the hardware is extremely hobbled)

Main differences are:
No outdoor siren/speaker output
8 less hardwired zones
No onboard serial port
No voice speaker/driver
No phone control

Otherwise the EZ8 is exactly the same as the M1G for every other item and can be expanded to essentially be the same as an M1, less what I stated.
