Vista panels and RadioRa2

We just bought a new, used house, and I am installing a RR2 system in it gradually.  We also need to install a security system that I would love to have tied in with the RR2. The best option I see is to use Elk. However, my wife hates the one I removed from the house we just left for various reasons.  She also doesn't want me to install the security system or do self monitoring....something about it consuming too much time and feeling "hacked" together...

So, my second best option is a professionally installed Vista panel.  Everything I read though makes it seem as though if you tie it in with RR2 than you loose the ability to use the Total Connect 2.0 features...and potentially the Tuxedo Touch keypads.  I think I would have to install a Vista 128bpt, but don't really know if it will do what we want.

Does anyone have experience making all of these (Vista 128 bpt, RadioRa 2, Total Connect 2.0, Tuxedo Touch, etc?) work together?  I'm really trying to arm myself with knowledge before calling around to find a good installer/monitoring co.

Others will probably comment on the Vista... Are any of the reasons your wife didn't like the Elk negotiable or are you decided already? A Vista doesn't really hold a candle to an Elk or OmniPro class system, IMO. And you can always go to monitoring on those systems if it's important to you.

I ask the same questions, why does the wife dislike the Elk? Operationally and physically they're very similar panels but a lot of different features on the back end

Is it because the Elk install had issues related to the physical install vs a pro?

The M1 is far more scalable than the lower vista panels and economical compared to the OP platform.

We had a big long discussion about it last night and I may have gotten her to concede a bit. I have to get a pro to install the M1, figure out an economical way to get larger touch screens, and never self monitor again. So, now I get to call around and see if I can find someone that will install what I have for cheap.
