Omni HAI Communicator Trouble - Can I Program?

My old Omni HAI has been going into trouble mode showing communicator trouble. I have programming software on an old laptop. I DO NOT HAVE ACTIVE PHONE LINE.

Can I plug laptop directly into system and get into programming? I still use the automation portion of the system. Always wanted to Bridge a DSC Alarm into it but never did it.

You can connect a Wintel PC using the Leviton HAI PCA for dealers software serially or via a network connection and check the configuration if you have the installers 4 digit code or if it was left at default.

Curious why you would want to bridge a DSC Alarm to the Omni HAI alarm panel?
 
If the panel is still configured for a telephone line then you will get communications errors.  You can continue to utilize both security and automation on the panel with no CO or telephone connection.
