Is it me, or is there a shockingly little amount of actual details on that site?

It's "kind of a big deal."  What more do you need to know?

Pretty sure they did a similar type announcement last April also. Only time during the year I hear anything about that product.

The founder has been interviewed on the The Smart Home Show podcast a couple of times.  I believe he's been on other podcasts, as well.  Eg:
