Marvin windows

Hi cocooners, I am working on a home w new Marvin windows with the built in lock sensors. Can these be wired in series like traditional window sensors? What about the locked/closed option? Does that require a third wire? Any information on these sensors is appreciated. Thanks!

A link to the product would help with what advice to give.

I'm assuming this is wired and two wires are coming from the window?

If so, get a cheap meter and put it in 'ohms' or resistance.  Connect the meter to the two wires (don't get your fingers touching the ends of the probes as this will influence the resistance reading) and read the resistance in the open and closed position.  Report the results back here and we can help.

If they have more details on the installation, post the PDF also.

Interesting. My builder is on the verge of ordering my Marvin windows. I wasn't aware of this option. Your post comes at a most appreciated time!

My preliminary read of Marvin Home Automation suggests it is just plain alarm contacts. The Technical Specification Summary says sensor types "Reed and Micro switch". FAQ says 2 wires.

Yes it seems to work like traditional contacts and it does seem like hard wiring is the way to go because of problems w battery life on transmitters in the wireless system.
