How do I update my M1 gold manually?

I keep getting errors trying to update the M1 through Elk Rp .  Is there another way to check for updates?

I've run into this once before.  If I recall, it was some incompatibility between either older firmware (on the M1 or XEP) and/or the version of RP2 that I was running. Until I figured that out, I just went to the Elk web site and manually downloaded the latest firmware and then did an update.

What levels of firmware do you have on the M1 and XEP?  What version of Windows are you running?

Main Program Version 2.0.34
M1G Control Version 5.0.32.0
M1 Control Version 5.0.32.0
Hardware version 0.13
Boot Version 3.3.6
Firmware version 5.3.10
Windows 10

Where do I find the XEP is that the ethernet module?   Not even sure what it is.

Thanks

You're slightly back level on your version of RP2.  2.0.36 is the latest level.  I would upgrade that as the first step.

Your M1G is good at 5.3.10.

The XEP is the M1XEP, the ethernet module.

Older versions of the M1XEP firmware used SSL protocol to make a secure connection to the network.  Over the years, SSL has had security problems, and now TLS  is used in place of it.  Windows, other operating systems  and browsers no longer support SSL, and that creates problems trying to connect to the M1XEP if it still runs the older firmware that uses SSL.   So you need to upgrade the XEP firmware to the latest version (2.0.42) that supports TLS.

You can check your XEP's firmware level with the M1XEP Diagnostic Utility program. It will create a window that shows all the settings.  The firmware and bootware versions are at the bottom of the list.  You may need to temporarily disable your PC's firewall software for the diagnostic program to run correctly.

Lots of great info thanks.  I ran the Diagnostic utility and my firmware is 2.0.42.  The new ELKRP2 fixed my update problem.
Thanks
