HAI 35A00-1 dimming switch flashing Magenta but only when operated locally

HAI 35A00-1 dimming switch flashes LED magenta when "ON" side of rocker switch is pressed once, and continues flashing as long as the light is on.
 
Configured in UPSTART to be "Off when load is on.  Blue when load is off".
 
If turned on from the room controller, or programmatically via UPSTART or PC ACCESS, LED is off.
 
When configured to be Always off, it stays off always.
 
Does anyone have experience with this anomaly?
 
I have tried using upstart to copy the configuration of another switch to this switch, no change.  LED still flashes Magenta when turned on at the rocker.

So under "Options" in UPStart, there are lots of options on colors of the LED. I set mine to magenta when on, blue when off, and that is what it does.  Its possible you might not have the wiring correct. I'm assuming you have neutrals and they are wired correctly. The switch needs to have power all the time to stay lit all the time.  I'm also not sure what you mean when you say "LED still flashes Magenta when turned on at the rocker." There is no option for "flashing" LED's. All the options in UPStart are for solid colors or LED off, there is no "flashing" option.  If its flashing, there is something wrong. Perhaps your switch is bad.

Sorry to revive an old thread -- I just installed 2 dimmers I purchased on eBay that behave the same way. I tried factory resetting the dimmers and re-programmed them, but when you hit the rocker on, the dimmer led flashes magenta. When I control the dimmer remotely, the led stays off.
