Zigbee switches

Since I'll be moving to a "new" house, I'd like to experiment with various RF lighting options in the following order: zigbee, zwave plus, radiora2 (the last resort).

I do not have high hopes about zigbee due to its current implementation, especially the frequency band.  The  RF propagation pattern is almost surely going to be inferior to that of zwave plus and  clearconnect, but I am willing to try.

Is my understanding correct that a typical zigbee switch does no provide status notification similar to what both clearconnect and zwave plus do?  If the answer is "no", perhaps that would be the end of the experiment :)

An example of a typical ZHA 1.2 switch:

Thanks.

Thanks.
What is your question?  I have about 35 Zigbee devices and they all work great. Yes, reporting status is part of the Zigbee standard. Most of them also report instantaneous wattage consumption. In mid-2018, the Zigbee Alliance reported that 500,000,000 devices had been shipped to date. I don't think they would reach that level if it didn't work.

Thanks,

The question is whether any zigbee dimmer like the one above provides a status notification when you mechanically operate it. Since zigbee dimmers were subject to the infamous lutron patent just as zwave dimmers were, they could provide a notification only if they paid for that privilege to the patent holder.

Are there any post-2016 (patent expiration) zigbee dimmers that do provide status ? If so, what are recommended brands that do ?

I am aware that non-dimmer zwave/zigbee devices are not limited by the patent in this respect.
