Running :
-Win XP SP2
-Premise 2.1
When the PC needs to restart for any reason, my configuration is lost. I also tried to backup the conf but when I use restore/import nothing comes up.
Any ideas ?

I had this sort of thing happen when I first started using Premise. A complete deinstall and reinstall cleared it up for me then. I know that's not really an answer, but if it works...

When I've seen this, it has been because the XML file that was generated is not valid XML. Often, this was because some odd character was used in a name and that wasn't properly escaped when it was written out.
Here is how to check it out. Do a backup to client and then rename the file from a .xdo to a .xml file. Then load the XML file in Internet Explorer. You should see a pretty clear message in the body of the document where the error occurs. You can then edit the file
using notepad and get it cleaned up, rename it back to .xdo, and do a restore.
