Ok, thanks for the tip on using a snubber diode.  Video does help but still a little confused about having to select a zone or zone type?  I just want trigger 17 on when armed.

I believe they are 2200ohm, is that my problem for both the 4-wire & 2-wire smoke detectors?  I now do see in the instructions that 2-wire smokes should use 820ohms, but shows 4-wire smokes require 2200ohm?

I ran out of hardwired zones on my ELK M1 and am wondering if I can add an identical second 4-wire motion sensor onto the same zone as an exiting one?  Thank you. 

I had the same problem today. Ended up that the MAC address of the M1XEP changed!  An the new default IP was 192.168.3.???  which is not the standard default 192.168.0.251. Very strange but first thing to try is find the XEP in ElkRP software and go from there.
