The HAI have a setting that allows you to set the switch dim-able or non dim-able in upstart. I did not see that option in the US2-40, but the web site says that it could be set either way. How do I turn dimmer off? Thanks

In my case grab the 40 and go trough the house, chances are if it was an attempt of break in; the alarm will scare them away.
