Automated outlet has intermatic pro line (OUCH!)

If you just need a 300w dimmer, the cost is $37.45 http://automatedoutlet.com/product.php?pro...&cat=236&page=1 The only difference from the switch above and the $95.00 dimmer you describe above is that it is a 600w dimmer. Both switches are scene and 2-way capable.

    Can I do this??

yes, I checked for that. Thank you all for the help. Guess I'm going with z wave. This is kind of off the topic, but do you know if Homeseer can do TSS (I forget which way it is)?

    Can I do this??

I just checked a couple switches and they dont have neutral wires. Crap!! So if I was to have a two-way module, I have to go with the high-end z wave?

    Can I do this??

yes, I have a couple of the old x10's and they are pretty loud. Would I be able to use the Insteon lights and just cap the load wire?

    Can I do this??

I was about to purchase Insteon switches when I read that you need to have neutral wires in the switch box. As I dont think this is the case at my house, is it possible to just cap the load wire and use an x10 address? My other option is to go with z wave or x10. Z wave is a bit pricey for me...

    Fan/Light??

There are only 3 wires (including the ground) running to the switch. That means I would have to run another wire from the fan, correct?

    Fan/Light??

So you're saying I could use the Insteon 2486D keypad and hook up the light to one button and the fan to another?

    Fan/Light??

I am working on an Insteon based HA and am not sure which module will work on my fan in my bedroom. Right now I have a switch that just controls the on/off functionality of the light and fan. The fan will only work when the switch is set to on. I will have to see if there is a lead to control...

    Insteon Software

Are there any programs that have a comparable interface as Indigo? PowerHome's interface isn't all that user-friendly. At least it doesn't look it.

    Insteon Software

What will the Homeseer software do that the Houselinc software wont do? Is it just the remote access capability that Homeseer has?

    Scene Lighting

Will the cheaper intermatic switches ($45) enable me to do scenes or do I have to buy the expensive switches ($95)?

    Scene Lighting

Do you know the model numbers for the z-wave?

    Scene Lighting

I am trying to set up scene lighting in my house and was going to go with the Insteon switchlinc 2476D's. The only problem is it looks like there is only a tabletop controller to active the scenes and not a handheld device. As I dont want to spend $300 on a pronto right now are there any other...

    Couple Ocelot Question

What if I was to buy the scene capable insteon switches? Wouldn't that allow all the lights to turn on at the same time rather than one triggering after another?

    Couple Ocelot Question

What does this mean in the end? Will I just have to program each light to turn on instead of an all on command? One other question. Can my remote (TSU 3000) use the macros that are programed in the ocelot or does it still have to create its own? i.e. Turn on hall light 50%, recessed...

    Couple Ocelot Question

I was originally going to purchase the ir543 to have my remote communicate with lighting and thermostat but I am now thinking of going with the ocelot. Before I do, I have a couple questions about its versatility. 1. Can the ocelot use all of the house codes of x10 (similar to the ir543ah)...

    Scene lighting question

I am in the midst of implementing HA and have some questions on scene lighting. As my main focus is to use a remote (TSU 3000 or Harmony 880) for my lighting and HT, I am looking into X10 and Insteon. If I was to go with x10, I would use the switchlinc 2380's due to their scene capabilities...
