    Webcontrol Web App

webcontrol http://db.tt/erHhEgSI webcontrolipad http://db.tt/Cswu9tQe The first one is formatted more towards phones and the second for tablets. I recommend getting familiar with jquery mobile, JavaScript and php scripting. The web app can control just about anything on the pc, windows and...

    Http requests

If there is an interest, I would be more than happy releasing the web app with the understanding that I can't provide support for it. Wish I could, but I just don't have the time. It's the first version, so there is allot of room for improvement.

    Another Rebooting Problem

I did finally figure out that when I was hooking up the temp sensor, I used some wire out of a cat 5 cable. When I ran the wire, I used staples to fasten the wire. Why, I was either lazy or stupid. The vcc was shorting out on the staple. It was intermittent so it was very hard to find...

    Http requests

Yes, it is encrypted. I use xampp as my web server and just enabling ssl in apache does the trick. Like I said, there was a lot of configuration involved. There is one security flaw in my app though. I just used a php login script without a database, which means that the username and password...

    Http requests

After about three months, I figured out how to dynamically update the page without reloading it making a huge impact on bandwidth. With compression enabled, I was able to get the bandwidth down to 10kb every three seconds. My goal was to get a fast, efficient and lightweight web app that could...

    Http requests

I did consider using webset, but I like being able to get all the board's values at once. As for the app, I used php to get and format the data then JavaScript to display the data. Same goes for sending commands to the board.

    Http requests

Recently I made my own web app interface for the webcontrol board. It's very quick and reliable running on a dell net book that I wasn't using. The app has a jquery mobile base with php and JavaScript. I read somewhere on this forum that the board has a http queue. My question is how large...

    Another Rebooting Problem

I did some more testing and found something very interesting.  I have two temp sensors on the board.  When only one is plugged into the board, it works fine.  Only when both are used at the same time, the board reboots randomly.  To make this more confussing, I have another board that has...

    Another Rebooting Problem

I changed out the power supply to a 1A and the board is still rebooting every few hours or so. Where do I go from here?

    Temperature Sensor Conflicts

I soldered the sensor to a printed board so I could use terminals for wire connections.  If I have this right, the temp sensor is reading the wall temp instead of the air temp?  Well, that explains the difference in temperature.  The only thing that it does not explain is why the sensor that was...

    Temperature Sensor Conflicts

I've been logging the temperature in my house in anticipation to move my furance over to the webcontrol board.  I started out with a waterproof digital probe from ebay.  It was very accurate and quick to respond to temperature changes.  Thinking of space and looks, I switched to a regular...

    Another Rebooting Problem

The furnace takes care of that so the only thing I have to worry about is setting the temperature.  Thanks.

    Another Rebooting Problem

I'm not sure what you mean. How can the board check if everything is okay before it turns the furnace on? The furnace runs on natural gas and is five years old. It basically runs on a contact sensor, the furnace does the rest.

    Another Rebooting Problem

I kind of figured it was the power supply. Unfortunately, I have everything disassembled so I can remount the boards in a better location. I have another power supply on order. Thanks for the second option. Since I'm putting my furnace on one of the boards, I wanted to make sure.

    Another Rebooting Problem

I just got a new board last week running the latest firmware(3.02.16c). The board seems to be rebooting randomly about every 6 to 8 hours. There is two temperature sensors and a light sensor on that board. I setup the board to send me an email every time the Plc starts over, so when I upload...

    Prevent Power Up Email

I ended up just setting the email variables to normal operation on startup so I don't get any emails when the board is powered on for the first time.  I tested it and It seems to be working great.  I'm trying to avoid false notifications so when the power flickers, I don't get ten emails saying...

    Prevent Power Up Email

The delay didn't help.  It only prolongs the email.
