    poor man's garden sprinkler

Great thread; lot's of good information; thanks to all who've posted. For Canadian readers, I believe this is the same timer add-on valve, for CDN$18. Not bad. And here is the timer with manifold and two valves for CDN$75. Not so good. But due to difficulty in getting wires from my [inside]...

    Any News on ADI Firecat?

That's great news, Guy. Has there been any hint as to what the price may be?

    Free Insteon T-Shirts....................

Here's the link. Notice it says "...feel free to send this offer to everyone you know!" For some reason, it doesn't state the actual promotional code itself on that page; the code is EFRIEND8. Just use that code at checkout. Note that, as always, the Smarthome checkout will allow you to...

    Free Insteon T-Shirts....................

Yes, until the end of May. Right, you made the better choice. But the 20% is good for large orders!

    Insteon Keypadlinc Relay????

Agreed. This is exactly my dilemma, and presumably that of many others besides you and I :) . Again, agreed.

    Insteon Keypadlinc Relay????

Thanks for clarifying. I hope they will appear, but don't think it will be on account of CFLs. People want to be able to dim lights. The legislative push towards CFLs will, I hope, lead to improvements in incandescent, fluorescent, and LED lighting which will be dimmable, affordable...

    Insteon Keypadlinc Relay????

Hi Mike, IF Smarthome would say, "The KeypadLinc Relays are in the queue, but will take two years to get here," or "The KeypadLinc Relay idea has been abandoned, so forget about them," then at least we would know one way or the other. As it is, we have no idea whether a KeypadLinc Relay will...

    Insteon Keypadlinc Relay????

Digger, I do believe you've coined a new word, "falky." Is that a combination of flakey and faulty :P ?

    Insteon Keypadlinc Relay????

Okay, someone please help me out here. I know that Mike can't make any official comment on this, but it seems that he is trying to let us know something by this statement. Problem is, I can't quite figure out what? Reading it one way, it sounds like he is trying to tell us, "It's in the queue...

    New Insteon Access Point

Dave, thanks for pointing that out. That's an important distinction which I, and presumably others, were not aware of.

    New Insteon Access Point

IMNSHO, they WERE that misleading. And I have no interest in the RemoteLinc; weeell... maybe if it's actually, genuinely free, then feel free to send me some :) . And yes, I think they ought to swap them at no cost. But hopefully there will be future RF devices which I am very interested in...

    Insteon Keypadlinc Relay????

Digger, I hear ya! KeypadLinc Relay is also the item I need most. Several locations I would like a keypad, have heavy loads (ceiling fans, etc.) and require a relay. I have no where to place an InlineLinc, as the fans' hood spaces are already filled with RF remote control units, the J-boxes...

    what is x10 ?

:D :D :P Excellent come-back, BSR. Yes, I was referring to British Sound Reproduction (How many here are old enough to have had a BSR record player? Raise your hands.), rather than CocoonTech's own ;) . And here's an article from Uncle Phil which relates some of that history (scroll down...

    what is x10 ?

The power-line carrier protocol, as originally developed by BSR, is properly referred to as X-10. x10 refers to the company x10.com which, as I understand it, acquired the rights to the protocol many years ago. The RF devices were, I believe, developed by x10.com, but do encapsulate the X-10...

Sneak peek at Smarthome's Interactive Flash Demo

Win XP SP2, Firefox 1.5.latest (haven't yet upgraded to 2). Living Room: Turning on TV, spots fade to off but room lights go instant off; they could also fade off. Turning on TV could also close blinds. No obvious way to control lamps. KeypadLinc Lights On appears to turn on some...

Have any of you used x10.com?

Two CM11A's (with ActiveHome CDs), a CP290, a Radio Shack Plug'n'Power interface for the Coco, and some X-10 timers. All unused, of course, since the Ocelot took over a few years ago.
