Yep. Not sure I want to put in the sheet rock work. Also after looking in one of the 3-gang boxes i want to reduce to a single gang, I would have a LOT of wires in that 1-gang and with the added size of the Insteon switch I would be afraid of not enough space. So I may just leave it and think...
So my house is a mid-70s built house and the electrician decided that everything needed to be 3-way even if the other switch was in the same room within 6 feet and every light have its own switch even if it did not make sense to ever have the 2 sconces in the room on without each other!.
Which...
Forgot to mention many consumer gear does not support STP in that it is not grounded. Also if the system is not grounded correctly you can produce a ground loop that causes more issues than not having STP.
Possible he is a HAM operator. That could potentially induce unwanted noise. But even then doubtful. In industrial applications only place I have seen a need is runs near very large motors, such as drive motors for conveyer belts.
Just to add more confusion to this issue. My clock changed correctly on Sunday, and on Monday changed again to be an hour behind. However by Wednesday it had corrected itself to be the right time. At no time did I make any change to my system.
I can only assume that the Elk handles stress...
So last fall mine behaved perfectly with DST. On Sunday it behaved exactly as it should and changed its time correctly. On Monday it decided to go back to Standard time. WTH? Seriously what is the Elk using for its realtime clock and algorithms, these are nothing new to the computer work and...
I would think most people would have ups for the modems and switches. Heck I put the largest ups I can on my modem, switch and wireless AP. why because when we lose power those stay alive on ups for almost 4 hours which things like the iPad and iPhones can continue to have network.
So your receiver is located in cramped quarters. That area is not near metal or water is it? Such as duct work or water tanks? Cause both of those would present an issue.
I know that I have the same unit. My question is though why would one not install them. It costs nothing and is included. Yes the manual makes it seem as optional but it does not state any downside to using them only positives.
Ok solved the issue myself. Stupid mistake on my part. When installing the reversing relay i grabbed a ground from a motion instead of the ground from the smoke. Fixed my wiring issue and all is good. All smokes went off as expected and then after acknowledging the alarm was able to use the...
I just installed a reversing relay and have an issue with it causing Fire Trouble after a smoke detector goes off. It does make the sounders in all the smokes go off however it causes a Fire Trouble on 2 of the 3 smoke zones. All 3 zones are wired the same with a EOLR on each one.
I am using...
I am not sure but I would guess that this can not be done. Since the wireless system is a one-way system it has no way to communicate back to the smoke.
Why not use wired smokes? If you have an attic and a smoke already on that floor you should be able to just daisy chain off of it.
The isy99 will talk with the xep. You will want to buy the elk software module that is extra for the isy99. I think it is an extra $49. It will work without it. But is kinda limited.
