Keypad 1 also says lost communication

Ok I was able to initiate setting the keypad as address 2 but it says lost comm now. Why would it lose communication?

My gas detector model is Macurco GD2. Don't see anything about being or not compatible with the M1. Are they ok to connect as NO. But I need to check for a resistor right?

The keypad does power up but I am not able to select any keys from the keypad to try to set the Address. When I do the bus Enrollement from the main keypad it tells me communication failed. Ok so if we are only talking about the 2nd keypad any idea why it doesn't allow me to use the keys on it?
