Thanks for the follow up. I definately looks like a very nice interface. I think you'll get a lot of milage out of the theme concept for the interface. How many nerds out there will push a star trek theme out to all their friends. I would be there might even be some decent coin in creating...
I believed there was a cheap motion detector that would NOT be set off by pets. I've been looking and I can't find it, but I believe it would only go based on the temp of the moving object. Again, can't find it, but I know it was out there.
Definately looks nice. It appears you can make your own interfaces which is nice. What resolution did you design your default interface(s) for? I'm lazy so default tends to work best for me! hehe
Interestingly enough Forbes posted an article about hacking RFID. I think the idea is kind of silly. They are using a PDA to alter the tags of consumer products. As if no one has ever thought of swapping a UPC symbol on an item before.

I think I'll wait as well. There is nothing that 1.7 doesn't do that I want it to do. When they release HSP .net it had better be done much better or I won't update at all. HS does everything I need it to, and runs very stable. I'm only dissapointed in the interface for HSP.
I found this quite interesting. Here is an article from zdnet about RFID to be used to track prisoners in Ohio. As an Ohio resident I find this even more interesting. I wonder if it will be possible to track uncle Jethro from a website...
Some other nifty featuers are:
/msg NickName Hi, this is a private message
This will send a private message to only the recipient.
In Mirc this can also be done by 2x clicking the user's name.
A new window will open and all messages in that window will be sent privately to only that user...
To change your nickname use:
/nick MYNEWNICK
To clear the screen:
/clear
To see a list of NON HIDDEN chat rooms:
/list
with mirc just 2x click on the name of the channel or do a
/join #mychannel
I forget how to register nicks. I typically never do. I know cocoontech's irc server...
The look like standard bulbs to me. I don't have any 'normal' bulbs around the house anymore. I just can't see a normal need for this. I mean, I know I smell funky, but its going to take more than a light bulb to cure my stink!
I can be configured for that. I know it comes with samba/smb. In the config file it asks for pre-mapped drivers. It doesn't support my wireless nic, but it does have standard nic support. With it being a linux kernel, I'm sure you can add whatever you want.
I did find this guy very very interesting and promissing.

A 4 meg linux kernal that boots mplayer. I burnt it to a CD and poof, instant media playing capabilities. No TV capture, but you can hack the code to do whatever you'd like. Very promissing.
Just did some checking on MyHTPC. Looks like its going pay for version 2. The developer Pablo, lost his job. I was hoping for some great things out of that app. It had a long way to go before I'd spend money on it, but it was a very nice start.
Then again, it doesn't appear to really matter. The driver will probably work (with newer cards) but you still need the oem wdm:
CATALYST Windows XP Media Center Edition 4.3 - Driver Download
ATI CATALYST drivers provide fully qualified display support for Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004...
Alas, I have the 7500 and it doesn't support MCE. Is there really a difference in ATI drivers any more? I thought they were going unicode similar to Detonator drivers and Nvidia. My luck, that won't be the case. B)
I gotta go with Electron on that comment. I'm sure quite a few people are interested in zwave, but go with what you are good with. Don't feel pressure from us here. I just hope the traffic from this site helps you out! Electron has done a great job on the board.
Even though I have a decent array of gear, I jumped on this again. I Can always use more modules. Granted I'm working on going towards outlets and switches, but I'm not 100% there yet. So I'm taking the cheap stuff when I can.
