    VGA to RCA Video

Not quite right. You would only need two of those baluns because each one supports all three components plus audio. $56 x 2 = not that bad.

    VGA to RCA Video

Muxlab also makes a VideoEase Component Video/Digital Audio Balun (product #500050) that supports 480i/p, 720p and 1080i/p. Spec sheet is here - http://www.muxlab.com/assets/files/datashe...gital_Balun.pdf. Priced at $56.21 at Worthington. That's about the same as the video-only baluns that...

    VGA to RCA Video

Geeks.com doesn't say anything about ATI, but I found what looks like the same adapter here - http://www.hdtvsupply.com/dvtohdcoad.html - and they only list ATI cards. Component baluns only use two wires, so you can use three pairs of baluns and still have one pair of wires left. See here -...

    VGA to RCA Video

rocco: I don't know enough about this stuff to know any better. Sounds like DVI and component are too different to convert between them. Yes/no? How about conversion between VGA and component? So what is the best way to connect? The TV has available DVI, component, S-Video, composite and RF...

    VGA to RCA Video

Thanks Mike. So I guess there are a few options... Option 1... Use a pair of VGA baluns to get the signal near the TV and then use the AudioAuthority Model 9A60 VGA to Component Video Converter to connect to the TV's componenet input. Total price is ~115 for baluns plus $129 for the converter...

How do I use a balun pair to connect VGA to component? Can't mix baluns, can I?

    VGA to RCA Video

DavidL: I currently have a dual output graphics card and am using the S-Video out to connect to the TV. I'm using Leviton S-Video Quickport Connectors and Cat5e over about 40 feet to make the connection. I'd like to improve quality. You say that VGA to component is excellent. What would I need...

    Composite over cat5e

For some reason, I don't get e-mail notifications of replies. :) That's why I haven't replied in so long. rocco: The source is a PC, which I [sometimes] use for viewing movies. Resolution is 1024x768, but can be adjusted. I'm using the S-Video out on the PC's graphics card. Not sure that I...

    Composite over cat5e

Unfortunately, running more coax between these two locations is not really an option. I'm pretty much limited to Cat5. If I have two baluns at each end, what kind of connections do they have? Two composite? How do I get that in to and out of my video source? Or, am I misunderstanding? What...

    Composite over cat5e

Could use your guys' advice on a slightly different setup... I'm currently sending video from PC to TV, over about 40 feet of Cat-5e, terminated with Leviton S-Video Quickport Connectors. Quality is OK, but I'm sure can be improved. I'm guessing that these connectors don't do anything to improve...

Sorry to ask again but I couldn't find the answer

Great explanation smee!! I've been looking for this type of info since I'm soon to be in the market for more cameras. Rupp: If you do get that camera from Martin, let us know when you have it connected so we can see the quality.

P.S. All the HA hacks included in the HA images are things that you can apply yourself - one-by-one. However, if you intend to use the mcsAudrey plugin, getting started is much easier if you already have all the hacks installed.

After writing to the CF card through the Audrey, it will not be readable by a PC. That's why it asks you to reformat it. I guess Gemulator is supposed to let you read other formats on your PC, but I have no experience with Gemulator, so I can't comment on it. The backup of the existing Audrey...

Why are you trying to read the card on the PC? Which image have you written to the CF card in the Audrey? The existing image from the Audrey? Or one of the downloaded images? Just to be sure... How did you get the image onto the CF card? If you have written the downloaded image onto the CF card...

I've read that larger than 32mb cards work too, but the images are only about 16mb, so you don't need more. I'm not sure if you'd have problems with a ''modern" large-capacity card. ...but you might.

    3Com Audrey

You will need a CF card. As far as I know, the only way to flash the Audrey is to do it with a CF card. Not all CF cards work. The 32MB SanDisk cards seem to be the preferred ones, but I'm sure that some others will work. The purpose of mounting the PC's drive is to get the image onto the CF...

In your example, is guest guest the username and password of an account on the computer from where AudreyShare is shared? Don't confuse this with username and password to access HomeSeer's Web server. Also... Is fs-cifs in the current directory? What is the exact error that you're getting?
