2 DVRNet system running in 1 network

hi all,

i have this problem with my CCTV system.. i have 2 DVRNet running on my network. there is no problem accessing the 2 system in my LAN thru webdvr (http)...

I can access both via internet thru my http://hostname:81 and 82. there is no problem accessing my system on port 82, all works perfectly. But the problem is on port 81 which after i log.on it prompts for "webdvr - connection fail" followed by "network fail".. i really had hard time troubleshooting this error.

I use EDIMAX router.. i gotta find solution how to port forward dvrnet port settings where in fact both of my system is having the same port setting.

Have you tried moving it to different ports?

You need to get the DVRs to use different ports. You may need to ethereal your network to see how many ports it is really using. Often port 80 is only for connecting and downloading the activeX or whatever it needs. Then a different port carries other required data. Some DVRs have specific ports for specific outputs, high quality video, low bandwidth video, audio, PTZ / IOcontrol, authentication they can all be on different ports.

Some however few just need 80, most need more then one.

You can also RDP or VNC into them however you won't be saving any bandwidth it would allow you to totally control them independently from anywhere. Only needing 1 port per box as a bonus.

I think the tzo option would be used if the ISP was blocking the port. Other than that I think it is a configuration option in this case (since one port works).

On TZO, I used it years back for their dynamic dns service and it worked fine. I never tried the port routing options (which if you need, you may want to check your cable company, some offer expanded options for $10/month, which may make sense if the TZO equivalent was more).

i have tried changing the ports of my other system since it is the same with the other system.

but the problem occurs even i'm just accessing it thru LAN..

i'm just wondering, is there might a possibility that my system has it's valid port range setting. wherein only specified ports well work in this kind of system?

need to gather your ideas...

1st You need to be more specific then "dvrnet". Many many manufacturers use that term I can't get a manual.

What is your internet connection? Provider? Service level?

What is your networking hardware? Modem? Router? Do you have authority to modify them?

What if any other internet services do you provide?

i have DynamicDSL internet connection. PLDT is my ISP..

i am using Edimax router and limitless access on the router configuration..

i am also wondering that everytime i change the port setting of 1 of my dvrnet i can no longer access it thru http://localhostort. i received "network fail" error..

the default main control port is 8080, and main video port is 8081.. everytime i change these setting i can no longer access it thru http:// ...

We need to get this running locally first, you have said it did and did not work over the LAN. Are they both working locally or not?
