2nd generation UPB switches out?

I got an email from digitalavnew.com today saying they had new UPB SW-2 switches with adjustable response time in a smaller sized unit. I think it is the Simply Automated product, but does anybody know if these are the first of the 2nd generation UPB switches we had heard about?

I just talked to Simply Automated and they say it is probably their switch. Another feature that they have added to the new line is a built in timer that is programmable from the receive tab. A switch can be setup to turn off by timer after receiving a link or a rocker touch.

I also got the e-mail and ordered 2. I will let you know how they compare to the now older SA us2-40 switches.

Won't that be great for a bathroom fan to stay on for 20 minutes after you finish your shower and turn off automatically.

The digitalav site does not describe this timer feature at all so I don't know if it is included in this swtich or not.

Probably? LOL, you mean Simply Automated doesn't know their own products or who they are selling them to anymore? Or they didn't like Web Mountain stealing their publicity? It was never a secret that Web buys from SA.

I do that with icon relays and homeseer events now.

Yup, it can be done with software or a master controller, but can you do it with just the devices? (and will it keep working....)

Wayne, When I was talking to Simply Automated I was discribing a switch and using the Name SW-2. That isn't the name SA is using.

Thanks

Yes, Web Mtn does license the SAI stuff, but I believe they can also make their own 'tweaks' to it. Web Mtn probably either did their own firmware based on the US240, or just did a deal with SAI for this 'specific' model. SAI, like many other companies will not bring out their new versions until current supplies run out. That's also what you basically saw with the 1130's. I wouldn't expect to see the SAI version until supplies of the current US240's are low and its anybodys guess what those #'s look like.

Before this thread started I email them asking them about their second generation switches and this was the response I got.

Josh,

The US2-40s that we are currently shipping have firmware version 1.13… there is a label on the housing. It has adjustable response rates of 400, 517, 633 and 750.

Sincerely,
Brad

So it looks like it is their switches, just need to verify the firmware on the switch.

No, unfortunately not - at least not in the field. I guess SAI just kept the US240s with new firmware instead of making it a new model, and undoubtedly thats what Web Mtn has licensed and shipping as mentioned above.
