42A00-2 Problem

Not sure what is happening here. The documentation contains details but I seem to have a problem making this work. I have a 42A00-2 with an OP2. The OP2 has a 10A06-1 Hardware Expander. The 42A00-2 is showing up in Dealer PC Access on Zone 49 which according to the documentation should be correct. I am using a interlogix fob 600-1064-95R which should work since it 319.5 MHZ and Caddx. But after programming on channel 1, A1 n1, I get 1 AL which is NOT READY. I have tried several other settings but have not gotten any where. Any thoughts or documentation would be appreciated.

So make sure you know, a keyfob will use 4 channels because it has four buttons, and make sure its set as non-supervised, and no restore signal, so Type LED and Mode LED are both off. If its NR, the Mode LED is probably set wrong.

I checked on your ideas and had the same results. Perhaps I am programming the FOB into the 42A00-2 wrong. Here are the steps I am using:

1) reset memory by pushing both switches and wait for EE. Press and hold an additional 2 sec to proceed with reset.
2) hold down Mode/Advance button for 2 sec.
3) A1 will appear. Press the Mode/Advance button to save any changes and n1 will appear.
4) press the Mode/Advance button to save any changes and 1 will appear.
5) I press 1 button on the FOB and the TYPE LED begins to flash.
6) press the Mode/Advance button to save and 2 will appear.
7) press the Mode/Advance button again and the LED Display goes blank.

I then press the button on the FOB, the LED Display will display the button that I press but then will go blank and display the number again with AL. I tried changing the SET SWITCH such that the MODE LED and TYPE LED are blank, then saving that and the LED DISPLAY does nothing nor the console displays nothing. I also tried all the combinations on the MODE LED and the TYPE LED with the steady and flashing LEDs and saved them and got the same result. I am thinking that I might have a 42A00-2 unit problem.

Also with the 10A06-1 board installed, should I be setting the extender setting in PC Access to 1 or 2? Another note is that the Zone count in PC Access goes to 32 and then hops to 49 like I am missing 16 zones. Thoughts?

The zones on the panel start at 49 for the wireless receiver, so zone #01 on the receiver is zone #49 on the panel. You can set it up many different ways, like you can program multiple wireless transmitters into one zone, and multiple keyfobs can be programmed into the same four zones if you want. I don't know how many wireless zones you have planned, so don't know how you should set it up.

Anyway, a keyfob is different than most sensors so if you have other wireless sensors, maybe set up those first. As for keyfobs, all they do is trigger zone alarms. You have to add programming to cause them arm or disarm the panel, they don't just do it magically. If you press the first fob button and the wireless receiver is saying AL 01, then its all working. This is zone #49 on the panel, so make sure its set appropriately, not an alarm zone. The MODE and TYPE LEDs have to be off for a keyfob, or they won't work. They AREN'T supervised, and they don't send an Alarm Clear signal.

When you press the keyfob, they just go into alarm for a second. That's how they work. Then they clear.

Thanks for all of the information ano. I found two problems, I did not realize that the AL 01-04 was normal. I thought that was an error and that was what the issue was. Getting past that I found a programming error that I straightened out and got the results that I was looking for.
Thanks again for your help.
