Amazon Echo Dot read outdoor temperature of CAI sensor?

There was an Echo Dot under the tree for me this Christmas!
I've been thinking about getting an IR/RF blaster, so I can (try to) talk to various devices..

Since this blaster is not IFTTT friendly, my second choice is:

I thing could use the Broadlink RM2 (or Hook) RF output to link into my X-10 switches (I now use the CAI or the X10 RF remote to control X10 switches).
 
That got me wondering if I could run some IFTTT using PLC gett1.cgi to read the temperature sensors??

It would be nice to be able to read the outdoor temp and have the Echo Dot alert me when it was under 10F outdoors.. 
 
 
Has anyone here linked an Echo Dot up with their CAI board??
 
I'm not a programmer, so I don't envision getting anything done without a lot of effort and any help I can find here..

My Echo, two Dots, and WC8 all feed into the same ISY994i and interact but nothing directly.

People are reporting techniques, on the ISY994i to vocally report statuses of things via the Echo/Dots. I haven't tried any of them yet.

That ISY994i seems to be a bit expensive.. But it would be nice to be able to ask for the outside temperature and get a voice reply.. 
There is a lot of info on the ISY994i, so I'm going to read up on it..  Thanks for posting.

If you have more detailed plan like which protocol to talk to Echo Dot, I can gather that information talk to our engineers to see how can we best support that.

I'm just starting out, and have not looked at the limitations of the IFTTT scripts yet.
 
Since I have some good temperature and humidity sensors on my CAI board,
I would like to use that data to control not only my X10 switches using PLC,
But also use it to control other things like my IR remote controlled Sanyo mini-split..
Knowing the outdoor temp and RH is easy.. But can IFTTT use that data to
make decisions to send IR or RF commands out to appliances..
 
I'm thinking of buying the Broadlink RM unit and start trying to learn IFTTT..
The goal would be to request and use sensor data from the CAI board..
 
The voice I/O with the Echo Dot, would be added on, to control the flow of the IFTTT scrip or scrips.. If that's possible..
 
Currently, the Broadlink unit controls home AC units, by using it's own temperature sensor..
(Located between the mini-usb and reset button) ..

The Echo and Dots natively will answer you about the temperature and/or weather forecast without any HA equipment needed.

Yeah, I've been using that function. I did notice there wasn't any relative humidity. Plus, I need the data in a program usable format..
Example: I need to know what the temp and RH is outside my house, before turning on basement ventilation fans..
That way, I could avoid bringing damp air or very cold air into my house..
 
That information is available from my CAI controller, using the "Get function",  "http://192.168.1.15/gett1.cgi" for temperature sensor #1
and “geth1.cgi” – to query the humidity sensor reading..
 
I would also like to be able to set an 'Echo' alarm to alert me when the temperature goes below 8F outdoors,
and, maybe even turn off (using IR) my Sanyo mini-split (the Sanyo fails to heat at 6F deg), plus turn on some space heaters..
