audio format is not supported when playing dvd in windows media player

I just open up a new PC and I wanted to play a DVD using WMP11. I get this message. audio format is not supported with this application. Any suggestions?

It sounds like you're missing a codec or two. WMP isn't always the best at DVD's.

agreed. if you want a free alternative to check if you are having issues, try VLC. Usually plays DVDs pretty good...

Guys,
I agree with WMP not being the best and the laptop came with a player. It was more of a curiosity question. I found it odd that WMP11 couldn't play Star Wars.
