Bathroom radiant floor heating control

I have 6 zones with a setup from tekmar controls. I think they could do as many as you have but not sure the cost. I have a boiler controler plus a 6 zone controller(the biggest I think they make). I think you can piggyback another one on but honestly I am not really sure.

the only downside I see to the tekmar controls is that the dont really have a good gateway. They have one that is supposed to work via a MAC computer but no RS232 or TCP/IP interfaces. I am not joking about the MAC....

I did three 'major upgrades' in my house. a composite slate roof, a 3 jet shower faucet and this 6 zone radiant floor. I think the floor is my favorite..

For any DIY guys out there... NRTRadiant is who designed mine. The nicest guys you can ever work with. The design plans they come up with are really well done and calculated out to the fullest.

Yeah, we could have probably daisy chained some controllers together to do what we wanted, but it would have been $$$$$$.
I don't think I could find anything more than 6 zones on a single box, and I have like 13 because of the way the system is designed.
Plus the extra complexity of turning the forced air on and off depending on season. We've got a buffer tank, preheat tank, and a DHW tank with zones setup to run those too.

I should have bought stock in a copper mine before we built...

Ha! Yeah - the pest control guys were in my attic yesterday, and when they came down, they told my wife "Holy crap you guys have a lot of cat5 up there - what are you guys running in here? At least I know what to recycle if times get tough!

Some followup...

Went with the programmable NuHeat-branded Aube/Honeywell thermostat(s).

Has dry contacts on the back. Elk specifically mentioned as a possible controller, on the AARTech Canada website, for the identical Aube thermostat.

Interestingly, NuHeat t-stat instruction manual doesn't mention the dry contacts, but they are clearly included in the picture(s), and detailed in the Aube instruction manual.

I'll have to pull the thermostat off the wall to be sure. I was surprised to find these contacts, as I was planning on replacing the programmable thermostat eventually with an el-cheapo, and control it with a relay.

I have to buy a second thermostat this week, because our master bath is now 2 zones, with different floor temperatures in each zone. Pre-made electric radiant NuHeat mat in larger area, and small group of plain coils in the 'commode room'. For some reason, they have different temperatures, supplied by the same thermostat. Solution is to use 2 thermostats, with a second temperature probe embedded in the commode room.
