cat 5e wire spacing

When wiring whole house audio controllers, does the same spacing requirement stand for the Cat 5e cable as networking cable in regards to any power lines.

I would say YES. Don't run in parallel to power lines in close (inches) proximity and cross at right angles when you have to run close. The automation controllers are sending serial or TCPIP across the Cat5 cables. Both are subject to noise induced errors. You might also find down the road you replace a controller with a touchscreen PC or whatever that will be affected by line noise. So, make it easy on yourself and do reasonable means to prevent noise getting on your network and then you don't have to figure out ways to band aid it later.
