I visited Russound's booth. Russound is noted for their Cav6.6 and Cam 6 whole house audio and video distribution systems. They are excellent systems that are well known by home theater enthusiasts, but they are very expensive.
Well, Russound has come out with a couple new products that are for audio distribution only. These new products use new keypads and do not have video or "A-Bus" distribution capabilities.
One of these products, the "CA66" has six source and six zone audio distribution capability. Solutions using this device can cost as low as $1400 including six keypads! They also have an even less expensive four zone solution (though you can not integrate it to another amplifier system).
Russound also has a new intercom system which is meant to integrate with their product line. This is a true "room to room" intercom system. The one thing that really would have been a nice feature is if this unit accepted an external line input, say from a voice announcement system, so it "cut in" on the music audio like it does for when the voice intercom is used.
