Chat Room ???

I havent been able to get into the chat room for over a week now, I get a Unable to Connect: null error.

Any suggestions?

I just tested the applet, everything seems to be working. Did you change anything (browser, service pack, etc.)? Are you behind a firewall?

it works fine for me, but I normally use mIRC. I assume you are using the web/java client? I know I cannot chat from work, I have to connect to home, then chat from there.

Sorry it took so long to get back. So here is the update. SysAdmin says they are not blocking anything, I have turned off the windows firewall and still isn't working.

I took my laptop home, tried there, still getting the null comment. I was using the webclient, now I can't.

So that gives more details of whats going on.

Let me know what you think.

So it sounds it's like an issue with the laptop.

Its not just the laptop, its also my desktop at work.

mIRC is the only thing that will tell me what the exact issue is since the error messages make more sense.

traceroute looks good, I block pings, so that's as far as you would get. can you get to the webserver? http://www.marstracker.com

www.marstracker.com works for me. I tried going directly to irc.marstracker.com and I received this message after the applet loaded:

[12:42] Connecting...
[12:42] Unable to connect : Software caused connection abort: connect

When I tried the client also, I was unable to connect, I will post the errors later.

Try opening port 113 in firewall?
